Eat healthy, feel better, live longer!

That should be the slogan for women today. We the modern Indian women should not be left to be

judged with the figure we posses. We need to collectively work for a fitter society rather than just a

thin society. Weight loss a part of health, should not be our only goal in life. A few golden rules

followed in life could take us to a new path of success and happiness.

 Eat breakfast- most important for women as they tend to either delay or skip breakfast. Take

a break from work and by all means eat your wholesome breakfast before 10 am. Try and

include sprouts, nuts and seeds, curd, millets and vegetables for the first meal of the day

 Go traditional- avoid including crazy so called ‘health foods’ like high fibre instant meals,

biscuits, breads, smoothies, shakes in your meal. They are a marketing gimmick and loaded

with harmful chemicals. Eat natural, fresh homemade food.

 Go seasonal-eat only what your mother nature provides you in that particular season.

Seasonal fruits and vegetables grow easily and need not be fed with harmful pesticides. On

the contrary non seasonal fruits and vegetables are treated with harmful means of

preservation like radiation or genetic modification for a longer shelf life. A seasonal guava is

more nutritious than an imported apple.

 Go local- if it’s not growing near you it’s not for you!

 Go simple- small simple meals are best assimilated and utilized by our body. Eating a variety

of foods in one go reduces the absorption levels of nutrients.

Every day in our life is a celebration and it’s time we learn to enjoy it with healthy tasty

simple food. Food is health and health is happiness!
